Fortune - Buried in Tech - Steve Roach of Morgan Stanley doing his usual economist argument that technology isn't showing up in the aggregate economic statistics. Granted that many organizations do a poor job of realizing the productivity potential of technology, I'm not prepared to give up my PC or access to the internet because some economist can't prove that it's productive.

There's certainly a need for organizations to be more thoughtful about how they intend to realize the potential of technology. There's way too much silver bullet thinking about technology and nowhere near enough attention to addressing the individual and organizational change needed to get the benefits

Crain's Chicago Business: Questionable Losses at Accenture. Now that Accenture has the pleasure of being a publicly held company, they get to play the earnings and reporting games that everyone else does. The professional services sector has been soft since the first quarter, with the technology-focused firms hurting the most. My sense is the September 11th will delay the recovery into 2002.

JD Lassica has a very good collection of weblog background links. Her particular take is on the weblog as a form of journalism so there's not as much on the role of weblogs in knowledge management. On the other hand, this is an excellent starting point on the phenomenon
