AKMA's Random Thoughts: "Blogging, phase four: Beginning to grasp the fact that your words are out there, that anyone could read them" Found this link courtesy of Dave Weinberger. I picked this phase because I'm starting to grapple with that. I've actually been keeping the equivalent of a blog on my laptop for the last several years, but have only begun to post stuff out here last Fall. Then, as I'm reading through AKMA's blog, I realize that the virtual and physical worlds have just collided in a really strange way. I know this AKMA fellow! Yesterday, I'm sitting in church daydreaming during the sermon (actually jotting down notes for a paper I'm thinking of writing about knowledge management), when I register that we have a guest preacher this morning. I put down my pen to be polite and start paying attention. Good stuff. Pity I'm teaching Sunday school after the service and won't be able to listen to what else this fellow has to say. Now I'll get the chance to read instead of listen. AKMA was the preacher yesterday at my church. So my question is how do you calculate degrees of separation when you bridge the virtual and physical worlds? |

Google Search Solutions: "Make your company's search capability as good as Google's and just as easy to use. The Google Search Appliance integrates hardware and software to create a plug-and-play solution that takes minutes to install and can be maintained easily by one administrator. " A hw/sw combination to apply the google search capabilities to an intranet. Of course, the sales and marketing types want to get to you before you can find out what the pricing is. All they have to say is:
Which means "if you gotta ask, you can't afford it." So, do I waste the time to find out or not bother? For now, it's not bother. Another brilliant move from the folks in Marcom. |
