Overview of high-end document management

Yes, it's a pretty good overview article. But it ignores the simpler end of the market (e.g. UserLand's Manila) where there is a lot of value for the dollar. It also is a bit short on fitting document management into a broader set of business and strategy objectives, which is what ought to be driving the investment decision

New Architect: Demystifying Document Management. Quote: "The answer is obvious, but that doesn't damn the functionality of content management systems. The technology plays a vital role in most Web-based initiatives. Rather, Jupiter's findings indicate that IT managers should weigh their options carefully before implementing any CMS."

PopTech is coming

Buzz has been encouraing me to make the trip out to PopTech this year. You certainly can't argue with Maine in the height of Fall foliage season. And I'd get the chance to meet face-to-face with a group of people I've always wanted to meet. Sadly, my own calendar is already spoken for that weekend. At least the blog will let me participate vicariously.

This blog is about PopTech!

For those of you who haven't yet had the incredible pleasure of attending PopTech!   There is still time to get tickets and join 500 of your newest and closest friends in Camden, ME on October 17, 2002 for perhaps the best tech conference in America.

Over the next few weeks our goal with this Weblog is to demonstrate the power of the Weblogging idea and to showcase a number of the speakers that will be standing on the stage of the Camden Opera House.

The interviews are hopefully going to be done by about 3-4 bloggers, including:

J. D. Lasica

Ernest Svenson

and maybe... Robert Scoble

So, stay tuned...and read often..and make plans to come to PopTech!
